How to say 'My Dear' in Persian?

How to say 'My Dear' in Persian?

In Persian, the word "aziz-am" (عزیزم) is a common term of endearment that means "my dear" or "my beloved."

Formation: aziz + am

It's formed by combining "aziz" (عزیز), which means "dear," with the suffix "-am" (اَم), meaning "my."

Context:

This phrase is not limited to romantic relationships—you can use it with friends, family members, or anyone who holds a special place in your life. For instance, a parent might call their child “azizam,” or a close friend could use it to show affection.

🗨 Examples:

Azizam, to kheyli mehrabu*ni. (عزیزم، تو خیلی مهربونی.)
My dear, you are very kind.

Azizam, delam barā**t tang shode. (عزیزم، دلم برات تنگ شده.)
My dear, I miss you.

* 'u' as u in Lucy.

** 'ā' as a in 'car'

Romantic Alternatives for "Azizam"

If you want to get a bit more romantic with your expressions, especially with a significant other, Persian offers several beautiful alternatives that convey deeper feelings of love and affection.

Here are a few suggestions:

Eshgh-am (عشقم): This means "my love." It's a more intimate way of expressing affection than "azizam" and is commonly used between lovers.

🗨 Example:

💖 Eshgham, hameye zendegimi. (عشقم، همهی زندگیمی.)
My love, you are my whole life.

💖Jun-am (جونم): Meaning "my life" or "my soul," this is a powerful term of endearment, often used between people in close, affectionate relationships.

🗨 Example:
Junam, man tanhā bā to khoshbakhtam. (جونم، من تنها با تو خوشبختم.)
My soul, I’m only happy with you.

💖🌹 Gol-am (گلم): Meaning "my flower," this is a soft and sweet term for someone you love. Commonly used for female partners. But feel free to show your affection however you want😊

Example:
Golam, kheyli dus(t)et dāram. (گلم، خیلی دوستت دارم..)
My flower, I love you so much.
